Jeweller and Gemmologist (GIA)

Stephanie Lorimer

Stephanie Lorimer’s lifelong passion for jewellery and gemstones was shaped by her upbringing in a jewellery-focused family. Surrounded by beautiful objects from an early age, she naturally gravitated toward the art of jewellery design and has since built a respected practice grounded in craftsmanship, gemmological expertise, and a deep appreciation for rarity and history.

Originally trained as a teacher, Stephanie worked across both primary and secondary sectors. She holds a BA (Hons) in Art History and Spanish from the University of Canterbury, and spent a formative year teaching in Spain—a time that deepened her love of art, culture, and design. After returning to New Zealand, she made her home in Ophir, a historic gold-mining village in Central Otago, where the dramatic seasons and striking landscape continue to inspire her work.

Stephanie began making jewellery in 1994 and has earned her Graduate Gemmologist qualification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Her training included advanced gem identification in London, coloured-stone grading in Mumbai, diamond grading in Surat, and final examinations at GIA headquarters in Carlsbad, California.

In addition to creating her own bespoke jewellery, Stephanie has a particular passion for antique and mid-century pieces. Every item in her curated collection is hand-selected for its rarity, beauty, and enduring character. This website showcases both her original designs and a refined edit of vintage treasures—each piece chosen or crafted with integrity and intent.

Every piece has its own unique story. Choose from Stephanie’s curated collection of antique jewellery, or one of her own creations, and know you will have a one of a kind iterm to cherish.
