Stephanie Lorimer

Stephanie’s passion for jewellery and gemstones has been life long.  Growing up in a jewellery family fostered her love for beautiful objects and she went on to design and develop her own jewellery design and  manufacturing practice.

Stephanie began here career as a teacher working in both the primary and secondary sectors. She completed a BA Hons at University of Canterbury  in Art History and Spanish and with her family travelled to Spain where she worked for a year in a primary school. On returning to New Zealand  she settled in Ophir, a tiny gold mining town in Central Otago. Here the seasons, the extraordinary landscape and special nature of the place have helped nurture her jewellery making practice.

Stephanie has been making jewellery since 1994 and has lately received her Graduate Gemmologist qualification from GIA (insert link?). Her studies have taken her to London for Gem identification and to Mumbai and Surat for coloured stone grading and diamond grading respectively. She also travelled to GIA headquarters in Carlsbad, California to sit her final exam.

Stephanie has a particular interest in antique and mid century jewellery and she has hand picked each piece. Each object must be beautiful and rare . This website showcases curated  pieces as well as jewellery designed and handmade by Stephanie.
